I have a master in SME, but is raised on a farm. Since I was young I have joined my father and his 2 friends trying to replace pesticides with steam. My father died in 2013,and the project stopped. By then we had great results. In 2015 I called up my fathers to friends and asked if they would help if I started up again. They agreed and in february 2016 we started SSI AS. We involved 6 other people with necessary skills to develop the machine (engineers, software developers, mechanics etc) By the end of 2020 we will have 3 different pilot machines in the market in Europe and California.

Armend holds an MSc in Applied Physics and Mathematics and a PhD in Biophysics from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. During his PhD, he contributed significant advancements to the field of lab-on-chip technology and tissue engineering. Armend has spent time at world leading lab-on-chip laboratories at Harvard University and EPFL as part of his PhD education and worked as an Industrial Postdoc at EPFL. In 2018 he joined Aker BioMarine’s product development unit as Project Manager and Director Product & Technology prior to co-founding ClexBio in 2020.
