Phase 1: Nomination opens
Anyone can nominate a person, company or organisation in all categories per country through the public online nomination system. From each nominee, data will be collected based on the criteria of each category for further evaluation of each nominee in the competition.
Phase 2: Selecting National Finalists
Each of the country partners will invite a group of at least 5 ambassadors, which have an extensive knowledge and experience in the startup ecosystem. The panel selects 5 national finalists from the nominations for each category using the criteria and the collected data. Their participation ensures that only the most promising companies are selected in the shortlist. The shortlist consists of a minimum of 5 national finalists per category in each Nordic country. The National Finalists are published online and public voting for the finalists opens which can be done through an online system. Individuals can only vote one time per finalist.
Phase 3: Finding National Winners
Each of the country partners invites a national jury with extensive knowledge and experience relevant to specific categories. There are 5 jury members per category. The ranking of each finalist is done through a star based system provided by NSAwards, where each finalist is rated from 1 to 5 stars. The public votes weigh as one jury member, and they are equivalent to stars. Each finalist receives from 1 to 5 stars depending on the amount of votes gathered through the online voting phase. The overall rating of each finalist is based on the sum of the stars from the national jury and the public voting. Finally, the national winners are announced at the national events and also published online. At the same time, public voting opens again for all the national winners, which are now competing to win on the regional level.
Phase 4: Finding Regional Winners
The regional voting opens to the general public. NSAwards invites a regional jury with extensive knowledge and experience in the startup ecosystem, which can be from the Nordic region as well as outside the region. There are 7 jury members per category. The ranking of each finalist is performed as in phase 3 (the national round). Finally, the regional winners are announced at the grand finale and also published online after the award show.
